Indoor or outdoor: start with where the sauna will stand

Choose an indoor cabin

The one-person aspen sauna takes up about 7.5 sq ft of floor and runs on a standard 120V, 15A outlet, so it can go where a built-in sauna room never could. Indoor cabins have flat tops and aren’t meant to sit out in rain or snow.

Good spots: bedrooms, basements, home offices, apartments and home gyms with a firm, level floor.

Choose an outdoor cabin

Peaked roofs move rain and melting snow off the cabin, and the woods (soft fir, red cedar, mahogany) are picked for exterior use. A larger cabin can weigh several hundred pounds before anyone sits down, so the base matters as much as the sauna.

Good spots: concrete pads, solid decks, covered patios and sheltered corners of the backyard. Not bare grass or gravel.

Go by the interior size, not the label. A “2 person” cabin can feel roomy for one and snug for two larger adults. Compare interior width and depth, then check the delivery path. Wall panels have to fit through gates, stairways and doorways before they’re assembled.

How an LTCCDSS infrared sauna heats

There’s no stove or rocks. Carbon infrared panels sit behind your back, beside you and under the bench, and warm you directly while the air stays cooler than in a Finnish sauna. Most models top out around 140°F.

If you want very hot air and steam off the rocks, a traditional heater sauna is the better fit. If you want a dry sauna that warms up in roughly 20–40 minutes and doesn’t need its own room, infrared is the practical choice.

Heat that reaches your legs

Selected models add panels low in the cabin and around the feet, so your calves don’t stay cool while your back warms up.

Far infrared or full-spectrum

Far infrared panels run most of the range. Full-spectrum cabins add near and mid infrared. That’s a different heat mix, not a hotter cabin.

Low and ultra-low EMF

Ultra-low EMF cabins use shielded panels, with published readings around 0–1 mG on selected models. Compare the figure for the exact cabin.

Bluetooth, lights and controls

Built-in speakers, reading lights, color lighting on many models, digital temperature and timer controls, and overheat protection on compatible cabins.

Before your LTCCDSS sauna arrives

  1. 01

    Measure the whole space

Add room for the door swing, ceiling or roof clearance, and enough space to reach the walls later. A 73-inch cabin won’t go in a 73-inch gap.

  2. 02

    Check the power

Some models run on a standard 120V, 15A outlet; larger cabins can need more. Match voltage, amps and plug type, and don’t share a circuit with other heavy loads.

  3. 03

    Prepare a level base

Indoors, a firm floor beats deep carpet. Outdoors, use concrete or a properly built deck that can carry the cabin plus everyone inside.

  4. 04

    Assemble and test

The one-person cabin goes together in about an hour. Larger outdoor cabins need two people. Test the heaters, lights, speakers and timer before a full session.

Pick the wood last

Size, heating and power decide whether a sauna works in your home. Wood decides how it looks, smells and handles the weather.

European aspen

Used on the compact indoor cabin. Pale, close to scent-free, and comfortable to lean against when the cabin is hot.

Canadian soft fir

Lighter and more affordable for larger outdoor cabins, with a mild wood smell. Does best on a well-prepared, partly sheltered site.

West Coast red cedar

British Columbia cedar with strong natural moisture resistance and the classic cedar aroma. Costs more than fir.

Mahogany

A dense hardwood for selected outdoor cabins, chosen for stability and moisture tolerance. Still needs routine exterior care.

About LTCCDSS

LTCCDSS makes prefabricated infrared sauna cabins for the home. The walls, heating panels, bench, controls, lighting and speakers arrive as one system, so you aren’t building a sauna room around a separate heater.

The range is built around different spaces, not one cabin sold in several sizes. The 36.6-inch aspen sauna fits the corner of a bedroom and runs on a household outlet. Outdoor models in soft fir, red cedar and mahogany get peaked roofs and woods chosen for the weather. Full-spectrum and ultra-low EMF versions are there for people who care about the heating mix or the EMF reading.

The differences between models are practical: seating, heater layout, EMF spec, wood, power draw and weather rating. The idea is to choose a sauna that fits your home instead of remodeling your home around a sauna.
